Anaphylaxis

This course covers  a range of topics which could lead to an anaphylactic reaction and what to do if it happens. Topics include what is an allergy, types of allergies, what is asthma and signs and symptoms, signs and symptoms of allergies, asthma and anaphylaxis. Use of an EpiPen is covered as well as Action Plans to help with the treatment.

Autism Awareness

This course was designed in order to spread awareness of autism and teach you the skills on how to support someone that may have this condition.

Here you will learn the best way in which you can better understand the mind and actions of someone with autism and more importantly how to communicate with someone who is autistic. You will also learn about conditions that may co-exist with someone with autism and will grasp techniques you can implement to avoid a sensory overload in stressful situations

Diabetes Awareness

During this course you will learn about diabetes and how prevalent it is in the UK. This will give you a better understanding of how many people are affected by this condition and how it can affect people in their daily lives living with diabetes. This course will also inform you on the different types of diabetes and show how people with this illness are diagnosed by showing you the different types of symptoms. This course will also give you an understanding of how the different types of diabetes is treated and show methods and techniques into how to prevent diabetes. You will also be taught about the different complications that diabetes can cause for someone with the illness. With this training you will have the knowledge and information needed to ensure that safety measures ate put into place in your working environment in order to ensure safety for diabetics.

Disability Awareness

This will help individuals to develop an awareness regarding disability and the barriers that people with disability face. Discussions take place regarding attitudes, perceptions and expectations of people as well as the legal requirements. This then leads on to acceptance and inclusion.

Epilepsy Awareness

This course will allow you to have a better understanding of what epilepsy is and give you training needed in order to manage seizures.

This course was designed in order to allow an understanding of epilepsy and how it can effect someone with this condition. This course will also allow the participant to learn each of the different types of seizures. This will allow the participant to learn exactly what protocol is needed if someone with epilepsy is having a seizure.

Medication Awareness

This course will allow you to learn about a vast range of different medication and how to properly administrate the medication.

If you are working within the health and social care environment it is likely that you may be required to have medication awareness training. This course will give you a clear understanding as to what medication is, give yourself the knowledge of how to administer the medication correctly and show you how to properly read an MAR sheet.

Mental Health Awareness

This course will help give you a better understanding of what mental health is and how it effects people. It gives information about the common mental health conditions and the support that can be given to help alleviate the symptoms. Along with this we will look at how the stigma can be delt with 

Rescue Medication

This course is facillated alongside Epilepsy Awarebess for people who work with individuals who may require this intervention. This course covers information on the medication, policies and procedures.

Vagus Nerve Stimulation

This short course is available along with the Epilepsy Awareness course. It includes what Vagus Nerve stimulation is, how it works and where the stimulator and wire are in the body. Use of the special magnet is also covered. Positive and negative effects of this treatment is also discussed within this course.
